To help promote class discussion, I will rely on the online threaded discussion format that we used in our EDA 383 Blog assignments. This method will work very well to give all students a chance to become engaged in the discussion.
I will need to give guidance, but I would like the discussion to develop as fully as possible once I have set up the blog. For example, when my class is studying The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, I might ask students to consider the significance of Pearl’s personality in the book. What does she represent? How does she affect the other characters?
I would like the online discussion to have a focus, but not be too confined.
